Purity Balls are a very elaborate and elegant purity ceremony. They often resemble a wedding. Daughters and fathers attend purity balls. The fathers come all dressed up in nice tuxedos and the daughters come dressed on beautiful gowns (often prom-dress like). It is a beautiful evening full of prayer, dancing, cake and most important, the presentation of a purity item (often a ring, bracelet or necklace) to the daughters by their fathers. As the fathers present a purity item to their daughter, the fathers make a vow to their daughter that they will protect and guard their virginity. The daughters are then under their fathers guard and protection until they are married and replace their purity ring or item with a wedding ring. Daughters promise and vow to their fathers and to God that they will stay pure and abstinent until marriage.
